Bill Parson Running against Harry Reid
Bill Parson announced that he will be running for the Senate seat against Harry Reid. From his website:
I, like many of you, waited for Harry Reid and our other elected officials to regain their sanity and bring us back to a responsible course in government; but this did not occur. As I spoke with others, it became apparent that there was a need for someone to step forward and lead. There are many experienced in politics, with excellent writing skills, and well versed in public speaking; but they have failed to act.
Sharron Angle Running Against Reid
Sharron Angle has thrown her hat into the ring against Harry Reid. From her website:
Former Nevada State Assemblywoman Sharron Angle (R., NV), was encouraged by preliminary prospecting results concerning her exploration to remove Harry Reid (D., NV) from his U.S. Senate seat in 2010. “During June I met with advisors, and began mapping out goals. The money is now coming in, and as of this month I have already hired three staff members and I am currently interviewing two more applicants. I am capitalizing on my initial efforts with plans to grow exponentially.”
Angle reported that figures from her FEC filing for the end of June reflected $35,217 dollars raised, the bulk of that coming from individual donors residing in Nevada. During July, Angle began a new program for raising money effectively over the internet, and was impressed with the ease of new money coming in from first-time donors. “I am very pleased. As of this month I now have a budget to work with. I am currently assembling the gears and I am moving forward.”
Angle said she was unconcerned with the amount of money being raised by the Majority Leader. “Harry Reid is in a difficult dilemma; he knows he is going to need more money. It takes a lot of paint to whitewash a fence, and from the hole he’s standing in he’s going to have to buy a long brush to cover up his mistakes.”
Dr. Robin Titus Added to Harry Reid Contenders
Dr. Robin Titus has decided to contend for the GOP nomination running against Harry Reid. From the press release:
Charging that U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) “has neglected the incredible resources in Nevada”, prominent northern Nevada physician Dr. Robin L. Titus has declared her candidacy for the Republican nomination for the senior senator’s seat in Congress in the 2010 election.
“We have incredible resources in our state and Harry Reid has neglected them,” she explained. “He has not helped develop the resources we have here.”
